Siamsa Tire TheatreCo. KerryFounded in 1974, the aim of Siamsa tire is to present on stage a dance/theatre entertainment based on a wealth of music, folklore and dance which evolved from an age in Ireland now passed, an age when Irish (Gaelic) was the spoken language. The theatre offers a choice of three programmes during the summer season (May to September). FADO FADO - THE LONG AGO is a theatrical recreation in mime, music and dance of what life was like for a rural family in Gaelic-speaking Ireland many years ago. Each activity of the farm and of the family is chronicled in a song or a dance or both. Through lively music, singing, dance and mime Fado Fado moves from the open air of the fields to the warmth of a lamplit kitchen filled with laughing, dancing, singing people. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, May, June and September (Tuesdays and Thursdays, July and August)) SEAN AGUS NUA - MYTH AND MOTION is an exciting adventure in song, story and lore, into a mystical, Celtic world. The evening offers a dazzling variety of talents and skills as the performers explore new directions in their special brand of folk dance theatre.
