Kilflynn is a pretty hamlet perched on the rolling hills of North Kerry. The village,which is thought to take its name from the hermit monk St. Flainn who once lived there, is situated on the N69, 10 km from both Tralee and Listowel. The story of Lord Kitchener, the Earl of Khartoum, who lived nearby is told at St Columba's Heritage centre & museum, which is housed in a beautifully restored 18th century church in the centre of the village.

Kilgarvin is situated on the Roughty River, near Kenmare and contains Kilgarvan Motor Museum, where there is a display of vintage and classic cars including such eminent models as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Alvis and MG. Just off the Kenmare road is a geological oddity, a mushroom shaped rock, formed by a block of sandstone on a limestone plinth.
